…and More NWR Birds

5/3, Friday
We headed to Padre Island National Seashore, but severe weather forced us to abandon that idea, so we headed to our next location – San Bernard NWR. We didn’t see much more there than some Scissortail Flycatchers and Turkey Vultures, so on we went o Brazoria NWR. We had much better luck there seeing Black Neck Stilts, Glossy ibis, White ibis (with fledglings), Snowy Egrets, Ruby Throated Hummingbird, Great Tail Grackles, Red Wing Blackbirds, alligator, a Sora, Gallinules (with chicks), White Tipped Doves, a Tri-color Egret, Pied-billed Grebes (with chicks), Barn Swallows, a Crested Caracara, and some Meadowlarks. Then we raced to our overnight campground to try and make it before they closed; it’s just easier to check in that way.
