4/23, Tuesday
We had a lazy morning, then drove to Bosque del Apache NWR to “hunt” for birds and such. We saw Western Kingbird, Earred Grebe, Western Grebe, White-Crowned Sparrow, Canada Goose, Black Duck, Coots, Glossy Ibis, Rudy Ducks, Snowy Egrets, White Heron, Mallards, Cormorants, Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, flycatchers, Shovelers, Gamble Quail, Black-Throated Hummingbirds, Red-Wing Blackbird, Great-Tailed Grackle, Road Runners, House Sparrow, Desert Cottontail Rabbit, Horned Lizard, and a few other lizards.

We tried to wash and vac the RV, got laundry done, and planned another week of this trip. On the way back to the campground we ran into a nasty hailstorm.

For lunch we finally took a chance and went to The Owl Cafe & Bar, home of the world famous Chili Cheese Burger. They’ve been in business for 74 years. The burgers were great! A bit spicy for Alan, but he liked them anyway.

and donates them to a local charity.

Next some shopping at Walmart for necessities, then the town library to work on the last two day’s photos. Then we drove back to Bosque for one more tour.
