Kenya: Masai Mara

The Masai Mara National Reserve, located in southwest Kenya, is a breathtaking stretch of African savannah covering 1,510 square kilometers. Bordering Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, it’s renowned for its incredible wildlife diversity. As the top safari destination in East Africa, the Mara offers visitors the chance to witness iconic animals like lions, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, and more, all roaming freely across its vast, untamed landscape. In the evening the sunsets are breathtaking.

One experience of note was our flight out of Masai Mara – the plane that was to pick us up had some “problems” with one of its wheels before it left to pick us up. Then, when it got to the airstrip where we were waiting, it had another problem, with a different wheel. So they worked on changing it while we waited.
